Government Announces 5100 Homes to Go after Christchurch Earthquakes

On Thursday, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key made an announcement that thousands of people had been waiting for. This concerned the suburban areas of Christchurch which are to be abandoned due to severe earthquake damage. Many residents have been living in broken homes and using portaloos since the September 4th 2010 earthquake and were anxious to hear the fate of their homes.
