After a late night watching the Royal Wedding, thousands of people in the Christchurch region were rudely awoken by a 5.2 aftershock. This appeared to generated by the 7.1 earthquake in September 2010 as it was centred 60 kilometres from Christchurch and 20 kilometres from Oxford.
